Natural Person Wallet Provider (URI-based Identifier)

Description

A Natural Person Wallet Provider is a trust service responsible for issuing and managing EU Digital Identity Wallets for individuals. These wallets enable secure storage, retrieval, and sharing of electronic identification credentials and qualified attestations of attributes.

The provider ensures compliance with Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS) amended by EU Regulation 2024/1183, and EU Regulation 2024/2977) guaranteeing secure authentication, interoperability, and user control over personal data.

Requirements

The provider must ensure the following:

• Conform to EU Digital Identity Wallet architecture and security standards.
• Strong user authentication and cryptographic protections.
• Data minimisation and privacy-preserving mechanisms.
• Interoperability with trust service providers and PID issuers.
• Real-time validity status reporting and fraud prevention measures.
• User control over credentials, including issuance, revocation, and selective disclosure.
